Position Summary

Coordinate all aspects of meeting and event services for groups contracted through the sales office.

Essential Functions

  • Works with existing clients to arrange event details including function space set up, food and beverage, audio/visual and lodging.
  • Creates detailed banquet event order (BEO).
  • Maintains client relationships.
  • Works closely with Banquets department to ensure client requests are achievable.
  • Encourages food and beverage sales by offering additional suggestions or menu items that may suit the group.
  • Participates with Sales and Banquets teams for pre-conference, post-conference and BEO meetings.
  • Keeps accurate and detailed records of all internal and client communications.
  • Meets or exceeds all forecasted revenue targets.
  • Provides timely and complete reports on all group functions to Sales Manager to ensure repeat business.
  • Communicates clearly in written and verbal formats.
  • Acts as liaison between client and all internal departments.
  • Creates and distributes group resume prior to group arrival.
  • Remains accessible to client during assigned functions.
  • Organizes and prioritizes all tasks, while managing multiple projects to meet firm deadlines.
  • Provides input on concepts to enhance Chinook Winds Casino and Convention Center customer worth.
  • Is committed to achieving the highest possible customer service standards while following Chinook Winds Casino Resort core values.
  • Promotes the highest degree of customer service, both internally and externally.
  • Handles difficult guest situations, striving to attain a positive outcome and client satisfaction.
  • Maintains full compliance with departmental and company internal controls, policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED required

AA or BA in Hospitality preferred



Two years experience in hotel, resort or casino required

One year  group sales or banquet experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required

Six months experience as convention services coordinator preferred


Computer Skills

Microsoft Office intermediate level to include Word, Excel and Outlook required

Delphi, Caterease or other sales/catering software skills preferred


Certificates & Licenses

Must obtain a Siletz Tribal Gaming License

Oregon Driver’s License

Must obtain an OLCC Certification within 30 days

Must obtain an Oregon Food Handler’s Card within 30 days


Other Requirements

Excellent organizational, analytical and negotiation skills.

Must have reliable means of transportation, be willing to travel, work evenings, weekends, and holidays to accomplish job responsibilities. Overnight travel may be required.

Must have a professional image with the ability to exercise initiative, judgment and tact when representing Chinook Winds Casino Resort.
