How to Play Blackjack

Blackjack is a sure bet for fun and excitement during your stay at Chinook Winds Casino Resort. If you’re unfamiliar, please study this guide to better acquaint yourself with this fast-moving table game! The object of the game is to draw cards to a total of 21 or closer to 21 than the dealer. The ten, jack, queen, and king all have a value of ten. Aces can be valued at one or eleven. Gaming cheques are purchased at gaming tables.

Two cards are dealt to each player and the dealer. The players cards are dealt face up; one of the dealers is also dealt face up and the other face down. An ace with any ten, jack, queen, or king is a blackjack. It is paid at one and a half times the amount wagered. (or 3 to 2)

Hit or Stand?

After receiving cards each player will have the option to "hit" or "stand". Players wishing to "hit" must make a scratching motion towards themselves. (Single deck players will scratch with their cards) Players wishing to "stand" must wave off the dealer with a side to side motion of their hands. ( Single deck players will tuck their cards under their bet) Players may "double down" on any first two cards of a multiple deck game, 10 and 11 only on single deck games. Players may double down for up to the amount of their original wager and receive only one card. Players may split pairs up to three times making a total of four hands. Only same value cards can be split. Split aces will receive only one card. (single deck games, aces can be split only once) To split cards players must wager the same amount of original wager. Players can double down after splitting up to the amount of original wager. (Single deck does not allow doubling after splitting)
